KENZO Unveils First Sneaker Series Designed by NIGO
Dubbed “KENZO-DOME”.
KENZO has officially unveiled KENZO-DOME, the first series of sneakers designed by NIGO for the brand since his appointment as artistic director of the fashion house in September 2021. The pairs, which are set to launch this summer, take inspiration from the mid-90s skateboarding era with a name that directly references the renowned skate spot, the DÔME, located on the grounds of the Palais de Tokyo building in Paris.
Described as a minimalist cupsole sneaker, KENZO-DOME features a simple design reminiscent of the Nike SB Janoski. Uppers arrive in various colorways made up of either suede or grained leather, with fat Napa leather tongues incorporating rubber KENZO banners and “K” logos displayed on the heels. Rounding out the looks are grippy gum rubber bottoms.
Look for the KENZO-DOME to release via KENZO and select retailers on May 30.
