Kalbod Design Studio Envisions Floating Healthcare Islands In Dubai
Featuring underwater transportation, educational units, and more.
Emerging imprint Kalbod Design Studio has just unveiled its latest visionary plan to deliver innovative healthcare to the United Arab Emirates.
Set on its own private island in Dubai, the floating network aims to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to local citizens centered around advanced technology with a sustainable approach. The Dubai Healthcare City island is inspired by Islamic geometry and features underwater transportation, eco-friendly residential buildings, and educational programs for doctors and students.
Dubai Healthcare City boasts an ultra-modern crescent moon-shaped layout that pays tribute to the city’s Palm Island and the structure of Burj al-Arab. Geometric religious patterns make up the exterior design, while underwater passages will be accessible by monorail systems and electric cars. In addition, the curved cement buildings feature exposed pathways that allow visitors to roam freely while enjoying views of the Persian Gulf.
