AZ Factory Combines Leather, Wood and Mosaic Tiling for Limited-Edition Stools
A collaboration with Milan-based studio FERRILLOBELLI, and designers Molly Molloy and Lucinda Chambers.
AZ Factory has released a limited-edition collection of stools alongside the Milan-based architecture and design studio FERRILLOBELLI, and designers Molly Molloy and Lucinda Chambers. The 35-piece collection combines natural materials with brightly hued mosaic tiling to create small stools that are intended to appear as colorful “totems”.
Each stool has a geometric form, which looks almost like a block with sections sliced away to create sloping surfaces. Some of the surfaces are left bare, making a feature of the ply, while others are covered in deadstock leather. The decorative element comes through via the tiling, which was achieved in collaboration with historical mosaic experts Friul Mosaic, they have been decorated in hand-cut, naturally coloured enamels crafted from recycled glass powder.
Ad well as offering a practical perch, the stools can be stacked up to create a sculptural feature within a space. “They stand like totems amongst the clothing – paying homage to colour, form, and the ethos of collaboration and artistic exchange that underpins this project,” says the brand.
The collaborative AZ Factory x FERRILLOBELLI stools are avaialbe from the brand’s website now, and are priced at £3,060 each (approximately $3,789 USD).
