TAG Heuer is back to mark the prestigious 2023 Monaco Grand Prix with the release of three new Monaco Skeleton Dial pieces. The latest additions to its iconic Monaco collection see the Tag Heuer wristpiece arrive in new and colorful hues.

The TAG Heuer Monaco continues to reflect the cutting edge of contemporary design, all while reflecting popular culture. The brand has cemented itself with a racing heritage since the 1960s, popularly associated with Steve McQueen in the ’70s. Since then, the watch has gone through several design changes and technological advancements to bring an avant-garde mentality to the timepiece. The modern skeleton watch comes in three different dials — Original Blue, Racing Red and Turquoise — all of which show case the watches open work. Each of the watches are designed to offer an avant-garde interpretation of the racing universe in vibrant styles that give the timepieces a more youthful look.

Each of the watches tell a different story. The Original Blue is inspired by the first-ever TAG Heuer Monaco blue dial and features blue and red accents on the dial, while the blue further highlights the column wheel and the oscillating mass engravings. The Racing Red gives a nod to TAG Heuer Monaco’s racing DNA. Red often references the racing sparks on the tracks, while the black and silver details are seen on the dial to give the watch the sleek look. Additional red notes are on the column wheel and engravings, visible on the oscillating mass to complete the race-inspired aesthetic. Finally, the third watch in Turquoise is a fresh new take on the Monaco design. As a nod to Monaco’s vivid coastline and the red color to represent the racing heritage, the turquoise is eye catching and is sported on the column wheel as well as engravings on the oscillating mass.

All three watches are powered by the in-house Heuer 02 movement. The movement allows for a conventional column wheel that activates the chronograph while also boasting an 80-hour power reserve — the biggest for a chronograph in the watch industry. The watches also feature a Super-LumiNova treatment that give the pieces a futuristic look with its luminescent elements. The watches are available later this month.
