Oakley Factory Team Taps Brain Dead for Reimagined Chop Saw Sneakers
Appearing in “All-Black,” “Olive Nubuck Leather” and “Jacquard Red.”
The Oakley Factory Team has dropped a selection of new Chop Saw silhouettes, conceptualized and designed by Brain Dead. The exclusive collection, which serves to calibrate “natural technology for a synthetic world,” prioritizes ergonomic comfort with a double-take-worthy serrated sole.
The reimagined lineup features three colorways — “All-Black,” “Olive Nubuck Leather” and “Jacquard Red” — with a brawly, function-first construction. For each, the aforementioned sole provides a sturdy platform for upper designs, while also making a stylistic statement with sharply cut edges. Oakley’s iconography appears on the outer side of each sneaker, and laces appear in each shoe’s respective colorway.
Zooming in, each design boasts a unique personality. Among them, the “All-Black” iteration boasts the classic traits of the signature Chop Saw, with a contrasting grey tread, a black nubuck leather upper, Oakley’s ellipsoidal mesh and a carbon fiber-like heel panel. The “Olive” design, meanwhile, is smooth and strong, with a similar mesh and carbon fiber set-up, and the “Jacquard Red” model pays homage to the colorway that Oakley released decades ago.
The Oakley Factory Team Chop Saw Spring 2023 collection will be available to shop on April 18 at 10 a.m. PT on Brain Dead’s webstore and in select Brain Dead and Oakely locations worldwide. Take a look at the collection in the gallery above.
