DC Studios Drops Official Trailer for 'Blue Beetle'
The film showing DC Comic’s first Latinx superhero features a cast and crew of Latin-American actors
Building on various leaks and teasers, DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures have now dropped the official trailer for Blue Beetle. Originally conceptualized for HBO Max, the upcoming film is directed by Angel Manuel Soto and centered around the first Latin DC Comics superhero.
Expected to introduce Blue Beetle to the DC Extended Universe, the character could fall into play with Booster gold, another character DC Studios head’s Peter Safran and James Gunn are developing.
The official trailer for Blue Beetle shows how Jaime Reyes, played by Xolo Maridueña, acquires the Scarab. Freshly graduated from college, through his search to find his purpose in the world comes into the possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology. The Scarab latches onto Jaime choosing it to become its symbiotic host. Scenes go on to show a struggle for the Scarab and Jaime learning about the powers of the suit of armor filled with unlimited powers.
The exciting showcase of DC Comic’s first Latinx superhero, aside from featuring a cast and crew of Latin-American actors, the film will also be released to show Spanish with English subtitles.
