Returning to the Palexpo convention center this year, Watches & Wonders 2023 saw a total of 49 watch brands and manufacturers all gathered in Geneva to unveil their latest novelties and offerings. As this year’s Watches & Wonders just wrapped up, Hypebeast looks back to some of the most noteworthy drops from the past week.

Replacing the discontinued Cellini line, Rolex’s Perpetual 1908 is the Maison’s most dressy offering at Watches & Wonders. Starring a sophisticated dial that nods to a 1931 Oyster Perpetual model, the time-teller comes attired in a slim and sleek 39mm case. A quartet of references for the Perpetual 1908 is offered, ranging from 18-carat yellow or white gold cases, accompanied by white or black colored dials. It shows off its Côtes de Genève embellished, and entirely new self-winding 7140 calibre via a transparent sapphire crystal caseback. With Ref. 5316/50P, Patek Philippe demonstrated its incredible craftsmanship and technicality by housing the minute repeater in a platinum case. The choice of material is rather unusual for this type of watch, as platinum would normally produce a duller and more muted sound in comparison to other metals. Another standout feature of this time-teller is its rather compact size, considering the number of features and complications it possesses in a case that measures just 40.2mm in diameter. Cartier unveiled a total of six Tank Normale references for the highly sought-after Privé collection this year at Watches & Wonders. The limited-edition lineup comprised yellow gold and platinum cases, which are paired with alligator straps or 7-link à maillons-style bracelets, as well as two skeletonized variants. Inside the compact piece measuring only 32.6mm in diameter, the Manufacture calibre 070 powers the watch with a running time of up to 36 hours. The official launch date is yet to be confirmed, while prices are available upon request via Cartier. A. Lange & Söhne wooed watch enthusiasts and connoisseurs at Watches & Wonders 2023 with the debut of its Odysseus Chronograph — the Maison’s first-ever self-winding chronograph. The timepiece is an amalgamation of artisanship and A. Lange & Söhne’s continuous endeavors for innovation. A product of six years worth of rigorous R&D, the Odysseus Chronograph also marked the premiere of the L156.1 DATOMATIC calibre which comes with a dynamic reset-to-zero function and novel dual-function. The official release date for the Odysseus Chronograph is yet to be announced, but it has been confirmed that only 100 pieces will be available. Its price can be inquired via A. With the new Ingenieur Automatic 40, IWC has brought back Gérald Genta’s iconic 1976 Ingenieur SL timepiece in a refreshing update, complete with a high level of detail and finishing. Arriving in four different dial options, ranging from black, silver-plated, aqua, and gray, the new watch comes in a 40mm stainless steel case with matching integrated bracelet with the exception of the gray-dial edition, which is outfitted in titanium. As for movement, it runs on the IWC-manufactured 32111 calibre with a running time of 120 hours.
