In light of the recently surfaced court documents in the Nike vs. StockX saga, StockX has shared with Hypebeast their own statement in regards to the matter.

Court documents indicated that a reseller receive at least 38 pairs of fake Air Jordan 1s from StockX in the past, despite them going through the platform’s authentication process. Nike had visited the reseller themselves, identifying that those shoes were in fact fake. Following reports of 38 fake paris of AJ1s sold to one reseller, StockX reached out to Hypebeast to provide the company’s statement on the matter,

While we can’t comment on pending litigation, we are confident in our legal defenses and have continuously supplied appropriate information in a timely manner. We stand by our verification process as one of the first and best in the industry, and in 2022 alone, rejected more than 330K products worth nearly $100M.

StockX also has a Buyer Promise in place, which is central to our mission of offering a safe and secure marketplace for both buyers and sellers. If we make a mistake and incorrectly verify an item, we’re committed to making it right for our customers.

In the same email, StockX clarifies what exactly the platform’s “Buyer Promise” really means. A company spokesperson explained to Hypebeast that it essentially “provides a streamlined process for buyers and a way for us to support them in the unlikely event that we make a mistake (e.g. we ship the wrong order, we incorrectly verify an item). This policy is another example of the ways in which we continue to invest in tools, technology, and processes designed to best serve our community.”

Nike has not commented on the court documents while the case is pending litigation.

In case you missed it, Nike Air Humara arrives in “Black Metallic.”
