As the automotive industry continues to shift its focus toward battery-powered vehicles, luxury British sports car company Aston Martin does not want to be left in the dust. The heritage car brand has announced that its debut all-electric vehicle will release in 2025.

The Drive reports that the British marque has plans to revamp its lineup of sports cars in the future to accommodate its battery-powered models. Aston Martin executive chairman Lawrence Stroll announces the news himself when offering the financial report for the fiscal year 2022. While he did not go into the specifics regarding which exact models will be receiving the EV update or whether or not a completely new EV model will be released, it is likely that the plan will move existing ones toward becoming battery-powered. Aston Martin consumers will see new versions or perhaps replacements for existing models like the DB11, DBS, Vantage and more. To ease the transition, plug-in hybrid cars will begin delivering next year as it moves towards offering electrified versions of all its vehicles by 2030.

Fans and automotive critics alike are weighing in on what they think the debut all-electric model would be. Currently, the brand’s best-selling model is the DBX and some are speculating that Aston Martin could make its debut by offering a completely electric version of the car. All signs lead to Aston Martin’s expansion into electrifying its vehicles as the company raised over $784.4 million USD in equity capital last year in hopes to be “sustainably free cash flow positive” by 2024.

In other automotive news, the Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe is going up for auction this summer.
