Vacheron Constantin Reveals Its Latest Overseas Chronograph in "Panda"
Sporty, elegant, and versatile.
Vacheron Constantin just revealed a new iteration of the Overseas chronograph, starring a sporty yet refined, two-tone “panda” design.
The “panda” is characterized by a silver-toned, sunburst satin-finished dial, and is paired with velvet-finished flange and snailed counters in contrasting black. Indices are doused in 18-carat white gold, while the hands are accented with Super-LumiNova. In reflection of the collection’s versatile, yet elegant aesthetics, the “panda” comes with an easy-to-use interchangeable bracelet system, allowing the wearer to effortlessly switch between the steel bracelet, calfskin leather strap, or the black rubber strap without any tools.
Visible through its sapphire caseback, the watch houses the watchmaker’s own self-winding calibre 5200. Boasting exceptional technical performance, the calibre is equipped with a twin barrel, which is enhanced by a column wheel and a Maltese cross-shaped screw that controls the watch’s chronograph function. The mechanical movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, highlighted with 52 jewels, and is completed with a 22-carat gold oscillating weight.
According to Christian Selmoni, the Style & Heritage Director at Vacheron Constantin, Overseas chronographs “have always been synonymous with exploration for the Manufacture.” He dubbed the new “Panda” chronograph as a “worthy descendant” to the original 1996 model and has high hopes for its incredible versatility and adaptability to different situations, and occasions.
