The final chapter of Alessandro Michele‘s reign at Gucci is upon us, and as the House begins to roll out its Spring/Summer 2023 “Twinsburg” collection we’re being treated to some particular goodies — such as this pair of boots.

Inspired by the equestrian world, the new Gucci boot mixes leather riding influences with metal components, notably adding a cap to the toe. However, it’s the harness on the side that ushers in Michele’s subversion; sure, it’s equestrian, but it’s also rather kinky.

Bringing horse riding cues back to the fore, we find pull tabs on either side of the boot, as well as lock-stitched panels on the front and back adding an extra layer of paneled leather to the heel and vamp accordingly.

As for branding, the pair is treated to an “Interlocking G” touch on the toe, also found in metal, as well as scripture on the harness’ ring. A low 43mm heel and a leather sole round out this £1,660 GBP (approx. $2,000 USD) pair of boots.
