BLACKPINK may have just renewed its contract with YG Entertainment earlier this month but its members are still hard at work on their respective solo careers.
Jennie recently branched out into acting with a role in HBO’s The Idol and, like her bandmates, has appeared in several fashion campaigns. K-pop stars have notably grown to become leading figures in the fashion industry as of late. Jennie herself appeared at the September Chanel show in South Korea and recently collaborated with Calvin Klein.
The K-pop star has now announced that she started a new label and company in November entitled OA.
She wrote about the new venture on her Instagram Story, thanking fans for their continued support of her solo work and BLACKPINK.
“Hi, this is Jennie. This year was filled with many accomplishments, and I’m so thankful for all the love I’ve received,” Jennie wrote. “I’m also about what’s to come, as I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA. Please show lots of love for my new start with OA and of course BLACKPINK. Thank you.”
OA already has its own Instagram page with as few posts explaining its purpose. Founded in November 2023, OA stands for ODD ATELIER and “aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected.” The post also previewed black hoodies with the back emblazoned with the brand’s logo.
