Yasiin Bey Announces MF DOOM Covers Show
One night only in Paris.
Yasiin Bey f.k.a. Mos Def is holding a one night only show filled with covers of the late MF DOOM.
The artist took to social media to announce a January 18, 2024 show at the La Cigale Paris. “An [entire] show dedicated to the music of this amazing artist who passed away oct 31st 2020. Yasiin Bey always showed admiration to the rhymes of whom been called Viktor Vaughan, The Villain, King Gheedorah or simply DOOM,” the post read. “He will perfom some of his favorits tracks from the masked One.”
Tickets are available now for €45 EUR (approximately $50 USD) each.
Following the announcement of DOOM’s death at the end of 2020, Bey — who has been a longtime fan and admirer — paid homage to the artist and released his own take on DOOM’s classic “ALL CAPS.”
