Jil Sander’s FW23 Campaign Centers on Self-Expression

Under the direction of Lucie and Luke Meier, Jil Sander has crafted an atmosphere of contemporary class, which moves between gender in an irrefutably exciting way while still retaining the brand’s signature minimalist core. Season after season the looks remain calmly alluring, yet the two designers continue to evolve anyway. As the temperatures continue to drop, the brand is showcasing its attention on the aforementioned with its new Fall/Winter 2023 campaign.

With the brand’s FW23 collection, self-expression is paramount. To showcase just how vital it is, Lucie and Luke Meier joined forces with the American DJ, record producer, composer and techno-pioneer, Jeff Mills, to shine a light on the new collection. “The collection clashes genres,” said Lucie and Luke Meier. “A reflection of our desire to embrace information exchange, openness, and cross-pollination, to merge the archetypes of women’s and men’s wardrobes, to create a true space of self-expression.”

Shot in Manchester, the campaign’s rich-hued visuals reveal the fusion of freedom, honesty and lightness – all in a forward-thinking manner. Whether it be the background or the clothes themselves, shades of crimson, honeysuckle, flamingo, dusty sage, tangerine, stone gray and more glide across the images. The play with color is then aptly complimented by the textures, patterns and shapes of the FW23 garments – offering a look at outerwear, tailoring, dresses and more.
