JAY-Z's Iced-Out Jacob & Co. Watch Sold for $1.5 Million USD at Auction

At an auction benefitting the Reform Alliance Charity at Atlantic City’s Ocean Casino Resort on October 2, JAY-Z’s diamond-encrusted Jacob & Co. watch sold for a whopping $1.5 million USD. Hov, who is known to be an avid watch collector, donated the timepiece to the auction, in an effort to raise money for the charity, which he co-founded to aid ex-prisoners return to productive, working lifestyles.

The timepiece, dubbed the Caviar Tourbillon World Timer, is composed of 18-karat white gold and employs a manual-winding tourbillon that supports three global time zones for cities including Los Angeles, Geneva and Dubai with a 120-hour power reserve. The watch is invisibly set with 204 baguette diamonds on its dial and another 294 baguette diamonds on its bezel, case and bracelet. The watch’s internal functions are visible through an exhibitory caseback that’s latched onto a navy-blue strap.

The heavily iced-out piece was purchased by an unnamed collector. Alongside JAY-Z, the top-shelf auction was attended by the Reform Alliance Charity’s founding board members, which include Michael Rubin, Meek Mill, Clara Wu Tsai, Mike Novogratz and CEO Robert Ross, along with a slew of famous faces, including Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, Travis Scott, Tiffany Haddish, Lil Baby and many others.
