G-SHOCK Unveils Latest GM-2100-1A: the Milky Way Galaxy Edition
A special edition in collaboration with the China Aerospace Science and Technology International Exchange Center.
G-SHOCK China has recently revealed a new exclusive watch, the GM-2100MWG-1A “Milky Way Galaxy Edition,” slated for release this October.
The watch, toting out-of-this-world hues and patterns, is a collaboration with the China Aerospace Science and Technology International Exchange Center, designed to expand G-SHOCK’s galaxy-themed collection, which already includes notable models like GM-2100MG-1A and GM-110EARTH-1A — both of which feature the recently revamped stainless steel bezel.
Notable features include the watch’s stainless steel bezel, which has undergone purple ion plating and laser engraving, to create a unique and distinctive design. Adding to the motion of the watch are some white-speckled accents that flow from the case onto the dial and back across the case, another nod to the Milky Way.
Tying all of the design elements together is the watch’s dial, which features a gradient brushed steel design, a date indicator and multi-use a digital window.
Accompanying the metallic components of the watch is a translucent resin wristband, with a stainless steel keeper holding the timepiece securely, while the exclusive case back design adds a final touch with an image of the Milky Way engraved on it. As a testament to its status as a special edition, the watch comes packaged in a unique box.
At the time of writing, the Milky Way Galaxy Edition, retailing for 1,990 RMB or $272 USD, is thought to be exclusive to the Chinese market, with pre-orders set to start on October 23 via its official site.
