Diaspora Skateboards has been dabbling in the footwear space lately, recently linking up with other skate powerhouse DC Shoes to curate an authentic-to-skaters capsule. Already with one
The revamped take on the Suede Skate Nitro sees all of Puma’s traditional functionality features and unique cushioning technology. Strapped with reflectors across the sides, Diaspora’s version of the signature shoe is not only clean in design and detailing but also provides critical, practical safety features for skaters. In terms of its design, the functional sneaker looks to the streets of Japan for inspiration, boasting a reflective print across both sides of the upper, evocative of Tokyo’s cracked asphalt streets. The Diaspora insignia is stamped onto the side of the heel, whereas Puma’s logo remains on the backside. T-shirts stay rooted in graphics, flexing cobranding infused with the (literally) street-inspired cracked asphalt design. Take a closer look at the capsule’s offerings in the gallery above.
Puma Japan and Diaspora Skateboards are also holding a commemorative and completely free pop-up to celebrate the launch, complete with live DJ sets, food and drink. Taking place on October 6, one day before the launch, attendees can pre-purchase items from the collaboration at the pop-up. See the full details in the Instagram post below.
