Versace's SS23 Men's Campaign Pictures '90s Runway Icons Mark Vanderloo and Iván de Pineda
The campaign also stars Ottawa Kwami, Anthony Thomason and Mark Vanderloo Jr.
For its Spring/Summer 2023 campaign, Versace flipped nearly three decades back in its history books to 1996, when model mavericks Mark Vanderloo and Iván de Pineda made their Versace debuts.
Shot by Mert & Marcus, the sartorial imagery mirrors the original campaign with the present-day models, celebrating their roles as “Versace icons.” Reflecting the Italian luxury label’s proposition of contemporary male opulence, both appear in fluid satin coats paired with well-tailored separates.
“I love these images of Mark and Ivan,” said Donatella Versace in a statement. “Since the ’90s they have defined what it is to be powerful, sexy, sensitive, and caring. They are true Versace men—not afraid of expressing their creativity through clothing and their friendship through the closeness of their relationship.”
In addition to Vanderloo and De Pineda, the campaign stars Ottawa Kwami, Anthony Thomason and Mark Vanderloo Jr., each of whom shows off the brand’s luxe knitwear, form-hugging tops, diamond-slashed leather and accessories donning the Versace Allover motif, among other products. At large, the collection and its campaign are an expression of “fun and formal, bravado and sensitivity, Baroque and pop.”
