Union LA's Next Jordan Brand Apparel Range Is Inspired by '80s Black and Latino Style
Classic sportswear silhouettes such as knitted crewnecks, tracksuits, tees and bucket hats are included in the capsule.

Since working on two Air Jordan 1 Retro High collaborations in 2018, Union LA and Jordan Brand have consistently impressed fans of the sneaker world with new projects. In 2023, the two parties are delivering even more energy to the space with a capsule that introduces the Air Jordan 1 KO Low along with matching apparel items, and the latter has officially been revealed.
The Union LA team wanted to shine a light on classic sportswear silhouettes and style from the ’80s within Black and Latino cultures. Simple and timeless silhouettes are included in the assemblage that are inspired from fashion sensibilities found in old school rap magazines. Chris Gibbs and his crew wanted to salute an era when exclusivity to reign over the streetwear crowd and genuine style was identified in how you styled simple and classic pieces. “This is our call to action for y’all to style yourself and take back dressing as a form of expression as opposed to a “drip flex” competition”, the retailer owner stated on Instagram.
Leading the charge here is a navy tracksuit along with a knitted, teal crewneck sweatshirt, both of which are embellished with a co-branded Jordan and Union logo. Elsewhere in the collection is a powder blue pullover hoodie, long sleeve tee, short sleeve tee and black sweatpants that are adorned with Union’s script logo, as well as a crisp white bucket hat.
The shoes and apparel are slated to launch via Union come February 2 at 8am PDT.
Elsewhere in sneakers, the Air Jordan 11 “DMP” is making a comeback later this year.
