The bold Yves Klein-esque shade of blue that has been doing the rounds for a while seems to be sticking around – at least for Pinto, where it has popped up in its latest collection of furniture and homewares.

Collectively named “Constellations”, the French label’s latest range includes a bed designed in collaboration with Le Lit National. Upholstered in Kvadrat wool fabric, the frame makes a bold statement in blue. Thanks to some clever design elements, the bed impressively looks like it’s hovering off the ground, and is made up of an upholstered base, slats, and a backrest.

Beyond aesthetics – quality and luxury have been of the utmost importance. Le Lit National is known for excellence when it comes to craftsmanship and material and has been operating since 1909 from a factory on the outskirts of Paris.

The Constellations collection was influenced by the night sky, from its deep blue shades to the patterns of the stars, and zodiac maps. Crafted for the bedroom, it also includes side tables, rugs, and lamps, each conceptually individual but linked through materials and colors. As well as marking the first collaboration between Pinto and Le Lit National, it is the first time that the high-end French label – founded in 2009 – has created a bed.

Constellations was unveiled on the occasion of this month’s Maison & Objet furniture fair in Paris, which also coincides with a city-wide design fair. Elsewhere in the city, Maison Matisse unveiled a collection of colorful cork furniture crafted by designer Guillaume Delvigne.
