Lucky Hank, AMC’s forthcoming series starring Bob Odenkirk, is scheduled to premiere on the network on March 19, just over seven months following the season-finale premiere of the actor’s Better Call Saul. On Tuesday, the production company revealed the first teaser for the series, placing Odenkirk’s “difficult” character at the center of the drama.

The eight-episode series, which is based on Richard Russo’s novel Straight Man, sees Odenkirk in the role of William Henry Devereaux Jr., or Hank, an English department chairman at an underfunded Pennsylvania college who faces a midlife crisis and “specialize[s] in minor strife and insignificant irritation,” according to the teaser. The show also stars Mireille Enos as Lily, Hank’s wife and the vice principal of the neighborhood’s high school.

Recurring guest stars include Oscar Nuñez (The Office) as Jacob Rose, the Ralston College dean, and Tom Bower (Crazy Heart) as Hank’s detached father, William Henry Devereaux, Sr. Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) plays the president of the college, Dickie Pope, and Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley) depicts Tom Leska, Lily’s past lover.

Aaron Zelman and Paul Lieberstein, who adapted Russo’s book for the screen, are on board as co-showrunners. Additionally, they’re listed as executive produce alongside Odenkirk, Peter Farrelly, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul’s Mark Johnson, Russo, Naomi Odenkirk and Marc Provissiero. Farrelly is directing.

The series will premiere on March 19 on AMC and AMC+. Watch the official Lucky Hank trailer above.
