After building a footwear team-up alongside Hunter that was made for gardening, Extra Butter is revisiting the collaborative sphere to introduce a brand new project with Diadora. Together, the duo has put together a new sneaker and apparel assemblage that pays homage to Giallo — the genre of mystery fiction and horror thrillers.

Leading the way for this new initiative is the Extra Butter x Diadora S8000 installment. The kicks are designed with a plethora of film-inspired details that die-hard horror movie fans would appreciate. Its multi-colored palette mixes purple, pink, red and navy blue panels that are crafted with a blend of pig suede and leather fabrics. Tongues and footbeds are accessorized with ornate geometric accents that reference elements of Giallo films.“Unlike the classic American slashers that relied on gore and jump-scare tactics, Giallo films were more psychological and featured highly styled cinematography”, says Extra Butter Creative Director, Bernie Gross. “The use of vivid colors that contrasted darker, macabre scenes became the inspiration for designing the S8000’s color story.”

Set to release alongside the sneakers is a range of various apparel items that include tees, long sleeves, hoodies and headwear. Obscure graphics that nod to Gross’ favorite Giallo films are printed on the pieces.

Look for the entire collection to drop via Extra Butter in-store Friday, January 27 at 11am EDT and online on Saturday, January 28 at 9am EDT.
