Converse took its lifestyle footwear category to new heights last year with its high volume of collaborative releases as it grew its line with Tyler, the Creator, aligned with A-COLD-WALL* on more futuristic silhouettes and proffered several offerings made with Stüssy. And this year it’s going to continue this hot streak with more projects, one being this three-part Cup Noodles-inspired sneaker collection made with Nissin Foods.

The Japanese convenience food company hand-picked the Converse All-Star R to focus on for this collection, making a duo of high-cut iterations and one low-top variation. The heightened installments nod to the brand’s original and seafood instant ramen flavors. Both are formed with crisp white canvas backdrops, and this allows for the packaging-inspired branding to do most of the talking. Cup Noodles embellishments are printed across the tongues and lateral sides of the right sneaker in either red or blue to mimic the aforementioned flavors while the left sneaker features Converse hits in the same font. Heel tabs lean into the product theme by getting equipped with bar codes. Additionally, Nissin Foods logos make their way onto the lower heels.

Shifting to the low-top, these are fashioned with stark black uppers and come covered in black and white Cup Noodles logos as well as bold red Nissin Foods insignias. The laces have been twisted up to copy the aesthetic of perfectly-cooked noodles.

The kicks are expected to release sometime in January 2023 for ¥13,200 (approx. $101 USD) in Japan only.

In other news, official images of the ADER error x Converse Chuck 70 have appeared.
