BBC ICECREAM Celebrates Year of the Rabbit With a Lunar New Year Capsule
Merging iconic motifs from traditional Eastern cultural heritage elements with streetwear.
With Lunar New Year celebrations right around the corner, BBC ICECREAM is gearing up honor the Year of the Rabbit with a special capsule.
Fusing the brand’s iconic motifs with traditional Eastern cultural heritage elements including lion dance, paper-cutting and firecrackers, symbolizing a new beginning with good luck, fortune and prosperity, ICECREAM’s new year range blends its streetwear staples to celebrate. Playing off the color red, which is a symbol of prosperity and fortune, the range features many red-colored items like the flock hoodies and t-shirts. Highlighting the t-shirt collection is the Lion Dance tee, which features a lion dance and firecracker visual, screen-printed using reflective red foil.
The capsule also reimagines the brand’s classic Running Dog motif, accented in red and in the traditional paper-cutting signature. Hoodies, t-shirts and a pillow are adorned with the new Lunar New Year-inspired graphic that sees the flock graphic print available in red, black and beige. In addition to red, gold is also a sign of good fortune. Gold also details the branding on every piece of the collection, signifying new beginnings.
The BBC ICECREAM Lunar New Year capsule is now exclusively available now at BBC ICECREAM Hong Kong and Taiwan stores and online. The collection is set to launch on January 17 via the BBC ICECREAM US, EU and JP global locations and websites.
