The singer and songwriter was the only child of Elvis and Priscilla.
Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter to Elvis and Priscilla Presley, has died at the age of 54 after she was suddenly hospitalized for a cardiac arrest. Her 77-year-old mother confirmed the death of her daughter in a statement on Thursday night,
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.
She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
Lisa Marie was taken to a hospital from her home in Calabasas, California, after suffering from a cardiac arrest. At the time, her mother took to Instagram to ask fans to keep her daughters in their prayers. The New York Times reported that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a woman who was “not breathing.” The authorities said, “Upon the deputies’ arrival, paramedics were performing CPR and assessing the patient’s status. They determined the patient had signs of life and immediately transported her to a local hospital for further medical care.”
Lisa Marie attended the Golden Globes awards a few days ago in Los Angeles with her mother to support Baz Luhrmann’s acclaimed biopic Elvis. Lisa Marie praised Austin Butler for his performance stating, “I really didn’t know what to do with myself after I saw it. I had to take, like, five days to process it because it was so incredible and so spot on and just so authentic.” The father-daughter duo was incredibly close. After his death, Lisa Marie became the owner of Elvis’ estate in Memphis, owning 15% of Elvis Presley Enterprises. She also had a music career of her own, releasing three albums that distinguish her rock sound from her father’s. She is survived by her mother Priscilla Presley and children Riley Keough, Finley Lockwood and Harper Lockwood.
