Within the Jordan Brand retro category, there are many themes that the brand will often lean on to erect newer footwear colorways. One of the most common is the “UNC” motif as the brand often pays homage to MJ’s time as a Tar Heel, and the next silhouette to receive this treatment is this Air Jordan 5 variation that’s expected to land in 2023.

In terms of visual presentation, it bears many of the same features as the “Oregon” makeup that released back in 2020, only styled in a way that aligns with the University of North Carolina. Uppers are formed with leather overlays all of which are fitted with Tar Heel-friendly blues, while the mid-foot netting and tongues usher in brighter contrasts of white. Eye stays, lace toggles, interior lining and laces are also dialed with a cool tint. In terms of branding, Jumpman logos rest on the tongues while Jordan banners are attached to the lower heels.

Peep a first look at the pair above and note that early reports have these dropping on March 4 2023 for $225 USD via Nike and select retailers.

Elsewhere in the sneaker world, Air Jordan 1 Low and Mid “Triple Black” colorways are on the way.
