Studio Nicholson FW22 Showcases Romantically Minimal Designs
With shape, movement and garment structure taking center stage.
What shines about the British label Studio Nicholson is its no-frills approach to refined clothing. For the Fall/Winter 2022 season, the brand extends its romantically minimal design signature through timeless pieces and attractive styling.
Led by founder and creative director Nick Wakeman, each collection offers a harmonious exhibition of Wakeman’s design background. Shape, movement and garment structure take center stage as Wakeman centers on the personalities of textiles. By doing so, her design efforts reveal a heightened focus on luxury that is defined by fusing fabric and form. This time around, menswear continues this philosophy with oversized v-neck sweaters, supple knits, blazers, square-cut button-down shirts, outerwear, relaxed-fit pants and wide-leg shorts.
Aside from each garment’s streamlined construction, a collection standout is structural outerwear. A smoke gray waist-length peacoat and a deep hickory brown overcoat serve up elevated and contemporary charm. What also solidifies the collection is a timeless color palette with hues of slate gray, brown sugar, navy, pistachio, lilac, rust and black. Finishing off the collection are accessories like leather neck wallets and elongated scarves.
