Heaven by Marc Jacobs Taps Bladee for a Spring 2022 Capsule
Exploring the ethereal aesthetic of the Drain Gang member.
After appearing in the brand’s Spring 2021 lookbook, Benjamin Reichwald, better known as Bladee, has now teamed up with Heaven by Marc Jacobs on a Spring 2022 capsule collection. Tapping into the Swedish multihyphenate’s ethereal outlook of music, fashion and art, the special range captures the unique energy of the Drain Gang member’s artistic practices.
The collaboration is revealed in a campaign that features music artist Baby Sosa, Oklou, and creative West Adler. The campaign was shot in Los Angeles by Hendrik Schneider and features styling by Bladee.
The Bladee x Heaven by Marc Jacobs Spring 2022 capsule collection is comprised of nine pieces and is centered around the mixed media artworks of Bladee that “translates dreamscape worlds and the subconscious mind into wildly energetic abstract compositions.” From selecting textiles, directing graphic placement and ideating accessory concepts, Bladee had a hand in designing the puffer vests, zip hoodies, knit sweaters, baby tees, trousers, beanies and jewelry found in the collection.
The fanciful bracelets and necklaces found in the range were designed to simulate bones and insects inlaid in amber, and the oversized hair bow serves to further the polysexual outlook of the collaboration.
