Donald Glover Makes His New Balance Debut With the RC30
The two colorways favor a simplified approach to collaboration.
New Balance’s collaborative roster has seen great growth in recent years as the brand has ushered in trendy looks throughout the decade so far. Now, its expansion continues as multi-hyphenate artist Donald Glover steps in to present the New Balance RC30. Glover most recently parted ways with adidas in 2020 after a brief run of footwear releases. New Balance’s Joe Grondin shares that the collaboration offers “no loud colors or branding, just classic, easy-to-wear colorways of a new silhouette that fit Donald’s style.”
The new RC30 silhouette is presented with an experimental edge on functional minimalism, drawing inspiration from the original New Balance Trackster. Two colorways kick off the shoe’s debut with the first in a mustard base with white branding while the second favors white with navy. Key elements of the sneaker includes its signature curved sole ripples, stretched “N” logo and a mixed material upper made of nylon and suede.
The global release of the New Balance RC30 presented by Donald Glover begins exclusively via Market by Gilga on July 8 with a wider launch by New Balance and select retailers on July 18. The suggested retail price of each pair is set at $120 USD.
