Converse Readies its Futuristic Sponge Crater CX in "Natural Ivory"
Following a triple-black iteration teased earlier this month.
First introduced as part of a collaboration with Samuel Ross‘ A-COLD WALL*, Converse‘s futuristic Sponge Crater CX silhouette appeared once again in an all-black iteration earlier this month and now surfaces in an all-white colorway dressed in “Natural Ivory” hues. Arriving as a stark departure from the footwear label’s classic silhouettes, the unconventional Sponge Crater CX model features a two-piece construction incorporating a knit sock upper and a Crater Foam body in the shape of a mule.
The exterior foam finishing resembles Nike Grind rubber, featuring a rugged finish with multi-colored speckles scattered throughout, while the mid-cut sock exhibits technical refinement with strategically placed perforations for breathability. Rounding out the design are nylon pull tabs on the tongue and heel featuring green “Natural Treeline” Converse motifs.
Take a first look at the Converse Sponge Crater CX “Natural Ivory” above and expect the pairs to release on the Converse website and at select retailers later this month for $110 USD.
