Helinox and RVCA have teamed up for an artist-led collaboration of outdoor furniture. By utilizing RVCA’s Artist Network Program, the offering features the work of artists Ben Horton and Kelsey Brookes.
Included in the collection are Helinox’s staple outdoor furniture pieces including an ultralight chair, table and cot. As usual, the Helinox pieces are crafted from high-performance aluminum alloy frames with custom-designated joints and durable fabric. What makes this offering stand out are the custom fabrications from Horton and Brookes.
For Horton, the inspiration behind his work comes from illustrations he would craft for skateboard decks. By looking at his personal experiences, the artist’s designs usually include birds, fish and other aspects of nature, which bridges his passion for environmental advocacy.
For former scientist Kelsey Brookes, his experience in biological and empirical methodology inspires his illustrations that blend logical and natural systems. The artwork for this capsule was taken from Brookes’ “Popular Psychelic Molecules, Rendered With Atomic Precision, Using Indian Tapestries” exhibition.
