Puma Brings Its ‘80s-Born "Slipstream" Sneaker Back to Life With a New Collection

PUMA is throwing things back with a revitalized version of its “Slipstream” sneaker. The sportswear giant released the original edition of the shoe back in the ’80s to facilitate for basketball players, now in 2022, the design has been brought back to life with a modern-day twist.

Available for both men and women, the “Slipstream” combines its basketball DNA with a clean rework. The sneaker’s tooling and upper have been given a more contemporary feel while the midsole has been sculpted with updated overlay panels and a remodeled collar construction.

The new “Slipstream” design has also come with a campaign that follows a cast of PUMA fan members such as Neymar JrLaMelo BallDanna PaoloRomeo Beckham, and more. The campaign features a short video that follows the group embarking on a galactic journey to reach new horizons.

You can see the “Slipstream” campaign video below and the sneaker is available now on the official PUMA website and select retailers for £95 (approx. $110 USD).

In other news, Reebok has introduced its latest edition to its “Workout Plus” family.
