Nike Gives the Air Kukini a "Pixel" Theme
Further leaning into the Y2K style of the silhouette.

Nike has a lengthy history of operating specialized subdivisions. Whether it be for specific sports, style or innovation, the Swoosh leverages these labels to push its boundaries. One such division that operated briefly was the Nike Alpha Project, an athlete-focused initiative that prioritized innovation. Key results include both the Air Presto silhouette and the Air Kukini that both carried futuristic design elements. Now, the Air Kukini model that debuted in 2000 makes another return still carrying the Alpha Project’s five dot logo.
This time around, the bold runner wears a “Pixel” theme throughout its upper with a galaxy-colored datamoshed base. The signature web-like TPU cage opts for a milky white while black leather overlays further add to the chaotic upper. Nike branding throughout the shoe takes a pixelated form with various glitchy looks. Cream tones then touch down on the trim and the midsole, with the outsole and Air Unit favoring black to complete the look.
The Nike Air Kukini “Pixel” is expected to release July 15 via Nike and select retailers at a price of $120 USD.
In other Nike news, the Swoosh has teamed up with Supreme once again, this time taking on the Nike Shox Ride 2 in four colorways.
