While NEEDLES‘ high-profile collaborations often center around its simple two-tone tracksuits, its full seasonal collections are quite the opposite, continually serving up unrestrained assemblies of fabrics and patterns in accordance with the label’s hippie Americana aesthetic. For Spring/Summer 2023, NEEDLES’ Keizo Shimizu resumes his exploration of ’70s street style for the modern era, assisted by photographer Kento Mori and renowned stylist Masataka Hattori.

Scattered across the collection is a diverse mix of geometric, psychedelic, polka dot, checkered, floral, starry, and animal-print patterns across both casual and tailored pieces. Embodying an urban edge, the new introductions are made to look equally at home riding around the city on a skateboard or at a special occasion. Standouts in the collection include new deconstructed Ghillie sneakers adorned with purple Papillion motifs, rodeo-inspired jackets and trackpants, loose-threaded denim jackets, bright reflective paisley sets, Cuban collar shirts, vintage suits, and logo-patch satin bombers.
