A Ma Maniére x Awake NY Unveils Collaborative COLOR CODE Capsule
Marking their inaugural partnership.
A Ma Maniére and Awake NY have united to create an apparel capsule as part of The Whitaker Group’s COLOR CODE program. Introduced last year, COLOR CODE is a product collaboration program that champions Black and minority brands to create capsule collections with The Whitaker Group’s retail brands.
The latest interaction marks the inaugural partnership between A Ma Maniére and Angelo Baque’s Awake NY. By blending cultural aspects of DC, Houston, Atlanta and New York City, the nice-piece capsule is inspired by 1990s athletic wear from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Dipped in shades of white, black, maroon and powder blue, the collection includes hoodies, sweatpants and t-shirts.
Featured on the pieces is a panther graphic design that recognizes the Black Panther Party. Alongside championing the spirit of change, the collection t-shirts also include the phrase “Higher Learning” as a call to action for all BIPOC communities. Finishing off the pieces is the A Ma Maniére and Awake NY names on the left chest.
