'Yo! MTV Raps' Announces Return With New Trailer

The likes of Freddie Gibbs, DaBaby, Latto and Saba are set to appear.

Yo! MTV Raps is making a return thanks to a revamp of the iconic hip-hop TV show coming to Paramount+ later this month.

Paramount+ has released an official trailer of the rebooted version. The trailer revealed the new version will be hosted by battle rapper Conceited and DJ Diamond Kuts. According to the teaser, the format fo the show will feature, “mic-dropping cyphers, original videos, iconic tributes and performances you won’t see anywhere else.” The artists revealed to appear in the show feature Freddie Gibbs, DaBaby, Latto, Saba and more.

Since its debut in 1988, the show has been a major hit amongst hip-hop fans. The show was originally hosted by Fab 5 Freddy, and later Dr. Dre, T Money and Ed Lover. Yo! MTV Raps was awarded one of the highest-rated programs in MTV history, paving the way with some of the most iconic interviews with the industry’s biggest stars including Tupac Shakur. While the original show ended officially in 1955, a new format revived the series in 1996-1999. The show made a limited time comeback for MTV’s 20th anniversary in 2018 but now, decades later, Yo! MTV Raps is arriving on Paramount+ on May 24. Tune in then and check out the trailer above.
