Manchester United and adidas Recruit Peter Saville for "Pulsebeat" Collection
Reworking his iconic ‘Unknown Pleasures’ album cover design.

Manchester United and adidas have partnered with legendary designer Peter Saville for a new capsule collection bridging the worlds of football, music and design. The collection reworks one of Saville’s most famous designs, the album cover he created for Joy Division’s album Unknown Pleasures.
That cover has been given a new twist, with the use of heartrate data from Manchester United’s men’s and women’s teams during competitive matches used to recreate the design and give the collection its “Pulsebeat” title. The “Pulsebeat” collection includes a two-piece tracksuit, long-sleeve jersey, short sleeve T-shirt, shorts and a scarf, as well as a special-edition adidas Spezial sneaker.
Launching the collection, Saville said, “A Manchester hearts beat differently. It’s a place where people do things with an energy that permeates. Within this special collection, football and music become united.”
The collection is due to release to adiClub members on April 18 via the adidas web store. The collection will also launch through the Manchester united club and online stores.
