KENZO Unveils Final Limited-edition SS22 Collection By NIGO
The fourth and final drop is a poppy-adorned collection by the artistic director.
KENZO has officially released the fourth and final limited-edition drop by NIGO for the Spring/Summer 2022 season.
This collection rounds NIGO’s second runway collection for the house and continues to emphasize the motif of poppies. His final capsule collection revisits the poppy print which has been a key illustration in Kenzo Takada’s archives. NIGO reimagines the flower motif and pays homage to the fashion brand’s heritage by carefully applying to two wardrobes of archetypical garments.
The collection is a genderless capsule and features a cotton poplin Hawaiian shirt adorned with the poppy symbol an all-over print and relaxed fit t-shirts constructed out of soft jersey where the poppy appears in a single form as a print on the back. The all-over poppy print is also seen on the matching shorts or skirt to the Hawaiin shirt. A series of t-shirts also see the single poppy appear on the pockets and on the back pockets of the cotton twill shorts. The main colors throughout the capsule are white, black, navy and pink.
The final capsule continues to showcase NIGO’s ability to merge his Japanese understanding of the floral motif to the house’s contemporary vision. Take a look above at the capsule. The fourth and final drop arrives on May 6 in stores and online at KENZO.
