Michael Jordan‘s basketball career is replete with special moments, and as his footwear brand grows over time, it has decided to make use of his jaw-dropping highlights to inspire certain colorways. The Air Jordan 1 Low Elevate “University Blue” is a prime example of this as it is designed to honor the 1982 NCAA championship game when #23 hit the game-winning jumper to defeat Georgetown.

On the outside, the chunky lifestyle silhouette has been adorned in Tar Heel-friendly colors. Pure white and “University Blue” hues mingle atop the leather uppers, the former of which informs the tongues, toe boxes and quarters while the latter arrives on the Swooshes and overlays. Interiors are lined with beige, and the insoles are printed with graphics of MJ cutting down the net after winning the NCAA title. Beefy midsole pieces down below are fashioned with a crisp white tone and come stacked above treading that’s covered in its titular shade.

Official images of the pair can be found above, and note that these are expected to release in the coming months.

If you’re looking for other sneaker news, the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT “Fossil Stone” has also been revealed.
