SUNNEI's Buco Sabot Mule Is Giving Indie Sleaze Nostalgia
The $646 USD pair sports a leather upper decorated with metal ringed holes.
SUNNEI steps out of the box, and now you can too thanks to the brand’s new Buco Sabot mule. Served up in black, this pair taps into the gothic and indie sleaze comebacks that are infiltrating the fashion scene this season, notably due to the upper being covered in metal rings that serve as a looking glass into the mule’s interior.
Smooth black leather is contrasted by rough leather square-cut laces that wrap around the upper numerous times. Interestingly, the laces are threaded through the heel’s eyelet at the rear before coming up to the vamp and sitting nestled between an eyelet on either side of the low-profile tongue.
That sole unit is made from EVA and rubber in a stacked formation before white welt stitching works the perimeter of the sole unit. A backless mule opening rounds out the otherwise minimal yet impactful pair.
