Satoshi Island Is a Sustainable Crypto Paradise Governed by Blockchain
The citizenship is an NFT.
Satoshi Island Limited has just announced the beginning of its 800-acre sustainable smart city.
This private island in Vanuatu is setting out to be the world’s first cryptocurrency economy — the official home for cryptocurrency professionals and enthusiasts. This city will run on a decentralized financial system where there’s a mix of resort-style villas for vacationing and smart homes and offices for those looking to make Satoshi Island home.
Each living quarter resembles a luxe modular shipping container and is designed by Hong Kong’s James Law Cybertecture architecture firm where each prefab will be shipped to the island when ready. Homes will start at $60,000 USD and energy will come from 100% sustainable, self-generating renewable methods. The citizenship will also arrive in the form of an NFT — Satoshi Island will still fall under the jurisdiction of Vanuatu — where its acts as a vote towards the direction of Satoshi Island, as well a certificate for the right to abode.
While the sale of land will begin later in Q2, the actual move-in date for the island will take place in 2023.
