ACRONYM SS22 Drop A Elevates J94-VT Varisty Jacket and More GORE-TEX Outerwear
Featuring an updated J96-GT 3L GORE-TEX Ripstop Jacket.
From GORE-TEX jackets to utilitarian cargo pants, ACRONYM brings back its technical silhouettes with elevated visual cues and functionality in “Drop A” of its Spring/Summer 2022 collection.
Leading the lineup is the brand’s second interpretation of the J94-VT varsity jacket made of lightweight 3-layer fabric comprising paneled polyester, lyocell, wool-blend twill, and ePTFE-coated nylon taffeta. The jacket concealed with a zip closure and snap fastener is made wind and water-resistant, fitting for all conditions. Emphasizing the collegiate look are decorations such as a chenille panel of a “Wildcard” graphic on the left chest, a “delta-Ǎ” embroidery on the cuff, and a colorway with alternate white sleeves.
Next up is the J96-GT 3L Gore-Tex Ripstop Jacket making a comeback with a more compact design, available in Khaki and Black. Crafted with a micro ripstop using 40 denier nylon yarns, the jacket with a dull matte appearance is eco-friendly with its solution-dyed Micro Grid backer. Despite add-ons such as the detachable Storm Hood/Hat and various types of pockets, including the TensionZip chest pockets, Mezzanine pockets, and bi-lateral pockets, the functional outerwear weighs as light as a cropped jacket. Other details include the adjustable Velcro tabs at the cuffs and detachable straps on the interior. Like the J94-VT, the J96-GT features a jacket sling for hands-free purposes. The Storm Hood/Hat, also known as the FC3-GT Field Cover, comes as a standalone substitute with a shock cord adjuster and docking clip which allows docking with all ACRONYM jackets.
Moving on to the latest bottoms, the articulated P10A-E cargo pants and new 8-pocket P39-M trousers return in stretch nylon canvases. The former comes in two colorways of Khaki and Black, while the latter is available in Gray and Black. Movement and accessibility are at the core of the P10A-E, which features 5 MM reverse coil zip gusseted cuffs, a motocross-derived shape, and a 2-way zip opening. The P39-M, on the other hand, is a seamless fusion of utility and comfort with deep pockets for storage, mobility-friendly martial arts gusset, and durable mil-spec material. The DFMA pattern used further enhances its fluid dynamics.
