Omega Refreshes the Legendary Speedmaster With Moonshine Gold
Two new precious metal options for 2022.
Omega has now refreshed its iconic Speedmaster for 2022, updating the classic silhouette with its proprietary Moonshine gold, an 18k gold alloy created by the Swiss watchmaker back in 2019.
Crafting the new models’ cases in the premium material, the watches take on a paler hue compared to traditional yellow gold while retaining a higher resistance to the fading of both luster and color. The case size is kept at 42mm, with one option featuring a PVD-treated deep green dial with a sunburst effect and the other placing black PVD subdials on a diamond polished Moonshine gold backdrop. Both timepieces carry the company’s famed Master Chronometer Co-Axial caliber 3861 chronograph movement, a manual-wind caliber operating at 3Hz with a power reserve of 50 hours. As usual, the watches are also water-resistant to five bar.
For those interested, the new green dial model will go for $34,800 USD with a gold bracelet and $24,600 USD with a green alligator strap, while the gold dial model will go for $36,500 USD with a gold bracelet and $26,400 USD with a black rubber strap. You can learn more over on Omega’s website.
