Going paint splatter-heavy.

Josué ThomasGALLERY DEPT. and Bruno Sialelli‘s Lanvin are back together for their second collaborative collection, once again referencing the 1990s, skateboarding, workwear staples, and GALLERY DEPT.’s signature artistic aesthetic for a comprehensive release.

Interestingly, the collection comes after Thomas announced the closure of GALLERY DEPT. back in September 2021. However, he did state that he would continue his art, and it seems this ethos has been applied in abundance to the new Lanvin collaboration.

Taking center stage is Lanvin’s now-signature Curb sneaker, which plays on ’90s skateboarding shoes. Here, GALLERY DEPT.’s classic painted design details grace the sneaker in a haphazard fashion, looking as if they’ve been worn in the studio religiously. The same aesthetic applies to the Arpège Chelsea boots, as well as complementing slides and various other pieces in the collection.

Standouts include the paint drip-effect In&Out tote bag, the dark blue suit that’s subverted with paint on the hem of the blazer, and the bright orange high-waisted denim pants. Contrasting the common theme is a double-breasted denim jacket that takes a deconstructed route, and the mini dress that’s adorned with side pockets in the theme of a painter’s overalls.

GALLERY DEPT.’s second Lanvin collection can be seen above and bought online or in-store now. Additionally, GOAT has the products available now.
