Y-3 Looks to Transformative Optimism For Second SS22 Capsule
A colourful continuation of its “20 Years: Re-Coded” campaign.

Following the launch of its Zinedine Zidane-fronted Spring/Summer 2022 “20 Years: Re-Coded” campaign earlier this month, Y-3 returns with its second seasonal installment which draws inspiration from the concept of Transformative Optimism.
A further exploration into key moments from the brand’s past, SS22 is informed by Y-3’s effortless ability to pair relaxed sports-infused silhouettes with functionality and adaptability. Loose fits are awash with unexpected florals, which merges six different prints from the brand’s past into one.
Footwear also arrives bold and brightly-colored, with silhouettes including a floral-infused Y-3 MAKURA, as well as a series of stripped back, white and gray classic Y-3 styles. Accessories also play a major role this season, in the form of bags, caps, bucket hats, socks, belts, towels, and bathrobes.
The accompanying campaign — shot by Charlotte Wales, styled by Robbie Spencer with creative direction from Jamie Reid — sees Yohji Yamamoto abstract the dynamic language of sport in order to subvert purposeful motion into transformative aesthetic beauty.
Y-3 SS22 Chapter 2 is available to buy now via the adidas webstore.
In other news, Y-3 recently reunited with Real Madrid to celebrate the pair’s anniversary.
