ASICS SportStyle Renews Partnership with the Kiko Kostadinov Studio for Season Three
Together the two parties have introduced a brand new UB3-S GEL-NIMBUS 9 silhouette.
After linking up with Naruto Shippuden for a footwear collaboration inspired by Itachi, Sasuke, and Kakashi, ASICS has now announced that it will be continuing its partnership with Kiko Kostadinov Studio for a third season. The Bulgarian designer’s camp has helped apply his own design language to the Japanese brand’s inline sneaker category with models like the HS3-S GEL-NANDI and HN2-S PROTOBLAST, and now the duo has introduced the next chapter of their collaboration: the UB3-S GEL-NIMBUS 9.
Like much of Kiko’s work with ASICS, this newest design draws inspiration from archival silhouettes, colors and materials. Overall, the kicks are shaped in a similar fashion to the GEL-NIMBUS 9, but feature various elements that allow it to stand alone. Overlays are done up with a patent leather material — a signature move of Kostadinov’s part — and come aligned with mesh underlays and synthetic paneling. Sole pieces are devise with a slightly aggressive and bulbous shape and come split with two tones.
The UB3-S GEL-NIMBUS 9 is available now via select retailers like Sneaker District for €190 (approx. $211 USD).
