Zenith Reveals DEFY Extreme E Desert X Prix 1/100th Sec Chronograph
The first of five limited editions to mark the races of the Extreme E 2022 Championship.
Zenith is celebrating the second season of Extreme E with the first in a series of limited editions based around its dual escapement DEFY Extreme Carbon 1/100th of a second chronograph.
The Swiss watch brand sponsors the all-electric rally championship – which launches into its second season in NEOM, Saudi Arabia later this month – and will launch a limited edition DEFY Extreme Carbon watch incorporating recycled elements from the series, for each of the season’s five races.
The first watch, the DEFY Extreme E “Desert X Prix”, features a rugged 45mm carbon fibre and microblasted titanium case, while the strap features elements made from recycled Continental CrossContact tires that were raced during the first season.
The DEFY Extreme E “Desert X Prix”, a 20-piece limited edition, drops on February 19 available via Zenith, priced CHF 26,900 (approximately $29,000 USD).
