Now that the festivities surrounding the NFL‘s entertaining Super Bowl LVI weekend are behind us and the Valentine’s Day celebrations have concluded, we’ve now moved into the second half of February 2022. All of your favorite sportswear brands have jam packed the coming days with striking releases, but before we break those down, let’s first get you up to speed with all of the action that went down in the world of kicks last week.

It wouldn’t be a complete week without a special footwear feature, so HYPEBEAST‘s Sole Mates series continued with a fresh interview with grime artist Ghetts about his ties to the Reebok Classic Leather. On the news front, Nike was certainly on the louder end last week as it unveiled new offerings such as its co-branded RTFKT “MNLTH” NFT, New York Mets-inspired Dunk High, and a “Chocolate” Dunk High colorway. We also learned that the LV x Nike Air Force 1 by Virgil Abloh collection raked in a record-breaking $25.3 million USD. Jordan Brand also made sure to get its fans excited as it revealed the Air Jordan 4 “Blank Canvas,” Air Jordan 1 Element GORE-TEX “Light Curry” and the Air Jordan 3 “Cardinal Red” — the latter of which is included in this week’s releases.

Shifting gears to the adidas side, the Three Stripes teased the upcoming adidas YEEZY FOAM RNNR “Onyx” colorway, adidas YEEZY BSKTBL Knit “Slate Azure,” Craig Green’s upcoming FW22 collaborations and the Parley x UltraBOOST 5.0 DNA. Elsewhere in the sneaker realm, Reebok unveiled its forthcoming collection with Tyrell Winston, Mache cooked up a New Balance 57/40 collab in honor of National Pizza Day and Justin Bieber debuted Balenciaga’s new Defender sneaker.

Now that we’ve got you all updated, you can browse through this week’s top 10 drops. When you finish up there, be sure to check out HBX for all of the latest footwear styles.

Air Jordan 1 “Dark Marina Blue”

Release Date: February 16
Release Price: $170 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Air Jordan 1s will continue to drop in droves of new colorways this year, and one of the more highly anticipated makeups that will be seeing its way to the market this year is the “Dark Marina Blue” colorway. Uppers are fashioned with two tones including a solid black that appears on the toe boxes, collars, wings logos and quarters while the titular tone styles up the overlays, Swooshes and laces. These have been produced in men’s and big kid’s sizes.

Nike Dunk Low “Siempre Familia”

Release Date: February 17
Release Price: $120 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: While the 2021 celebrations of Día de Muertos are over with, Nike is still holding on to the essence of the Mexican holiday by hosting another release of its Dunk Low “Siempre Familia” makeup. The rendition ditches the customary smooth leathers that we’re accustomed to seeing on the lifestyle model and ushers in textured leather and suede that mimics the look and feel of an Iguana’s skin. It also comes fitted with a yellow Iguana graphic on the heel counters to nod to the 8th and 9th levels of Mictlān.

adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 CMPCT “Slate Red”

Release Date: February 17
Release Price: $230 USD
Where to Buy: CONFIRMED
Why You Should Cop: Valentine’s Day is approaching and Ye is getting into the spirit of the holiday for lovers by dropping his adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 CMPCT “Slate Red.” This marks Ye’s second offering with the Three Stripes to don the all-red outfit — a theme that is of course inspired by his iconic Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October.”

Nike Air Max Terrascape Plus “Sail and Sea Glass”

Release Date: February 17
Release Price: $185 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: In an effort to further expand upon its “Move to Zero” commitments, the Swoosh has engineered the all-new Nike Air Max Terrascape Plus. Essentially a more sustainable variation of the classic Air Max Plus, the silhouette features an aggressive floating Swoosh cage that’s made of 20% recycled TPU and the outsoles are crafted with 13.5% of recycled rubber. A super clean “Sail and Sea Glass” colorway is slated to make its debut this week.

Nike LeBron 9 “Big Bang”

Release Date: February 18
Release Price: $240 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: In honor of NBA All-Star Weekend going down in just a few days time, the Swoosh is harking back to its 2012 archives to bring back the LeBron 9 “Big Bang” colorway. The King’s vivid offering is returning with all of its original design details including that of its “Team Orange” uppers and “Metallic Silver” details that speak to spacesuit-inspired details.

Wales Bonner x adidas Originals Japan “Black Sunlight”

Release Date: February 18
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: adidas UK
Why You Should Cop: Grace Wales Bonner and adidas are reuniting this month to roll out a four-pronged capsule that entails the adidas Japan silhouette. “Dark Marine/Easy Yellow/Cream White,” “Hazy Yellow/Brown/Dark Brown,” “Cream White/Easy Yellow/Dark Brown” and “Dark Brown/Collegiate Burgundy/Easy Yellow” colorways are on deck, all of which highlight a realm of Caribbean Thought and Black British intellectualism.

Nike Dunk Low “Midas Gold”

Release Date: February 18
Release Price: $100 USD
Where to Buy: Nike
Why You Should Cop: Dunks continue to be the talk of the sneaker community considering the massive volume of installments that Nike continues to unveil, and this week we’re going to see another two-toned iteration arrive on the scene. Up next for the Sportswear division is the Dunk Low “Midas Gold” — a “Be True to Your School” friendly makeup — whose color combo of “Midas Gold” and “Tough Gold” could very well nod to the USC Trojans.

Rick and Morty x PUMA MBA.01

Release Date: February 18
Release Price: $135 USD
Where to Buy: PUMA
Why You Should Cop: LaMelo Ball continues to show why he’s one of the most elite point guards in the league with his stat-filling performances this season, and he’s been doing it all in his signature PUMA MB.01. Ahead of his first All-Star appearance, the young hooper is launching his playful collaboration with Rick and Morty. The left shoe is fashioned with a vivid green exterior with bold red accents, and comes fitted with Rick’s face on the interior of the tongues. The right shoe is devised with a mostly red outfit and green branding while Morty’s face is stamped on the inside of the kicks.

Air Jordan 3 “Cardinal Red”

Release Date: February 19
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Jordan Brand has a tendency to dig into the vault for design inspiration when it comes to engineering modern colorways. And the upcoming Air Jordan 3 “Cardinal Red” is a direct reflection of that as it features a color palette that is representative of the Air Jordan 7 “Cardinal Red.” Premium white leathers and cement-patterned overlays are kept intact while “Cardinal Red” accents splash onto the midsole molds, interior liners and lace loops while “Light Curry” hits arrive on the tongue’s Jumpman logos and lower throat’s eyelets.

adidas YEEZY 500 “Blush”

Release Date: February 17
Release Price: $210 USD
Where to Buy: CONFIRMED
Why You Should Cop: If you’ve followed Kanye West’s journey with adidas then you’d know that he has a tendency to proffer up second, third, sometimes even fourth chances to his consumers to cop specific colorways. A restock can pretty much go down at any time, and the adidas YEEZY 500 “Blush” is now set to receive that moment. The monochromatic colorway is certainly one of the most popular styles within the YEEZY 500 lineage given its neutral-toned look that can pretty much pair with anything you’ve got in your closet.
