URWERK drops $270,000 USD Spaceship-Inspired UR-112 Aggregat Odyssey
The design makes a play of its bare metal titanium and steel surfaces.
URWERK has dropped a new bare metal limited edition version of its UR-112 Aggregat.
URWERK cites spacecraft from the Star Wars, Watchmen, Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica universes as the inspiration for the titanium and steel UR-112 Aggregat Odyssée.
The watch presents a mix of matte, polished and sandblasted finishes on its surfaces.
Time is displayed via two cockpit windows, with hours and minutes featured on separate rotating black titanium prisms while a spring-loaded hood – released using two pushers on either sides of the watch - reveals the watch’s power reserve and digital seconds displayed on a skeletonized silicon disk.
Inside is the UR-13.01 calibre with a 48-hour power reserve provided using a large single mainspring barrel. While the transmission of information from the main display to the secondary hidden secondary displays is made possible using a long thin titanium rod that is thought to be the biggest individual component used in contemporary watchmaking.
The UR-112. Aggregat Odyssey is limited to five pieces and available now via URWERK retailers, priced CHF 250,000 excluding taxes (approximately $270,000 USD).
Elsewhere in watches, Phillips to stage exhibition of early A. Lange and Söhne pieces in London.
