sacai Designer Chitose Abe Collaborates With Cartier on Trinity Collection
Reimagining the French house’s classic collection with six new limited-edition pieces.
Chitose Abe, sacai‘s very own designer, has joined forces with the French luxury jewelry house Cartier on its iconic Trinity collection.
The designer is slated to create six new limited-edition pieces, giving the collaboration a timeless, contemporary twist to its classic masterpieces. Abe is known for her experimental style, amalgamating high fashion and athleticwear silhouettes into one. Abe’s reimagination of the Trinity collection stays true to her design ethos of multi-functionality and individualism. One of her interpretations is of Cartier’s classic intertwined band, With Abe’s touch, the band can now be worn over multiple fingers.
The legacy of the Trinity collection spans nearly a century and still remains one of the house’s most sought-after signature pieces. Its trio of interlaced bands that saw the yellow, grey and rose gold ring come together as one, has long been a symbol of fine luxury in the world of jewelry. Abe explains the design intent behind the rethink of the Trinity ring, “It goes back to the idea of my clothes. There are many different ways to wear them. I wanted to apply that theory to the design of Trinity—the individuality in how to wear the piece.”
Stay tuned for more information regarding the release.
